![]() That LCD was only coming close to my CRT starting at 140Hz, but my graphic card had to work twice as hard for a smoothness undistinguishable from my CRT at 70Hz. I guess it doesn't help that I play on a 4/3 CRT, but there hardly were 16/9 CRT's, and I returned the last gaming LCD (Samsung CFG73) I got once I realized my CRT was still much better. It HAS to be a combination of framerate/FOV/speed. It's not me who has aged, because such good "controls" are still to be found, for example in Dirty Bomb. I know Bethesda isn't ID, but they're the legacy, and when I remember how good Wolf:ET's controls were, compared to Bethesda's games. While it's the same thing for me with Rage or Wolfenstein out of the box, I could tweak those to feel confortable, but Fallout, 3 or 4, I just hate how, with this huge amount of content, it "feels" like an indy game. Too slow and it's annoying, too fast and it's annoying as well because it doesn't match the walking speed. With the default FOV I feel sick, above 100 it starts to be ok (except it bugs other things in the game), but there's still that mouse look precision that I can't get right. It's not really the framerate alone (which is good for me), it's a combination of FOV & moving/looking speed. ![]() It was the same thing with Fallout 3, and frankly I don't know why this game feels so.
